There are lots of different bees, especially if you have Binnie’s Mods: Extra Bees, Gendustry and Magic Bees. While most bees will give you general byproducts such as ores, gems, honey and crafting materials, there are some bees that interact with the world (aside from auras such as regen and exp gain).
There are also a few spreadsheets you can find that have a complete list of bee species and their by products: Master Apiarist Database v2.0.
A student bee’s Drone can be sneak-right-clicked onto an apiary and will alert when the queen is gone.
Wombling: Picks up items in their territory and leaves them in their apiary.
Painting: Creates works of art and hangs them up nearby.
Armorer: Buffs armors placed on nearby Flower Pedestals:
Policing: Attacks nearby mobs and picks up items when they die (at a very high luck rating). Items will be in the Apiary/Alveary inventory (also writes a police report).
Sharpening: Sharpens weapons placed on nearby Flower Pedestals.
This will provide up to a 100% bonus to the weapon damage of most weapons, including the custom weapons from Tinkers’ Construct. Note that if you sharpen up to the cap of a Tinkers weapon and then replace the tool head (or other part that provides damage) with something with a higher base damage rating, you will not be able to sharpen it further.
Bark Biter: Bites small pieces of bark off of nearby trees. The trees are not permanently harmed by this, and the pieces of bark can be crafted into full logs. These are deposited into the Apiary/Alveary.
Husbandry: Breeds animals together within its territory.
Smelting: Smelts items placed on nearby Flower Pedestals.
Repair: Repairs items placed on nearby Flower Pedestals. This includes weapons, armor and Frames; this process is very slow.
Business: Grabs items from adjacent inventories and sells them on the Testificate market for emeralds. May take a small commission on each sale. Will not trade emeralds for goods, but rather goods for Emeralds (paper, leather, etc.). Emeralds can be collected from the Apiary/Alveary.
Junk Sale: Grabs emeralds from adjacent inventories and buys random objects on the Testificate market. Items will be deposited in the Apiary/Alveary:
Butcher: Humanely slaughters any grown animals in its territory. Will keep one pair of each animal type alive to breed.
Will produce every colour of dye:
Masonry: Chisels nearby cobblestone into stone bricks. The bees will change stone randomly and also change blocks underground.
Healing: Heals any entity within its territory and gives a regen effect:
Honey Glazing: Gives a special honey glazing to any food item placed on a nearby Flower Pedestal. When eaten, honey-glazed food gives absorption hearts. This can be applied to ANY food.
Priest: Enchants items placed on nearby Flower Pedestals. Their skills can be boosted with bookshelves.
Mining: Mines ores within their territory (ignoring y restrictions). These are placed into the Apiary/Alveary.
Silky Mining: Mines ores with Silk-touch.
Miner + Silky Miner (requires a block of diamond as a foundation).
Fortune Mining: Mines ores with Fortune 3.
Taxation: Extracts drops from nearby mobs without hurting or killing them. This only works for hostile mobs.
Crusher: Grinds up any metal ores placed on Flower Pedestals to give 2x-3x dust.
Clockwinding: Winds up Clockwork Engines in their territory, giving free power. Will keep up to 2 Clockwork Engines wound up so long as the Queen is working. The rate at which they are wound up is based on the bee’s Speed rating.
Science!!!!: Advances scientific progress, and only occasionally causes a random explosion. These explosions only break non-'tile entity' blocks.
Electrifying: Zaps nearby entities causing a small amount of lightning damage. Can have strange effects on certain mobs and animals.
Burning: Everyone is different. No two people are not on fire.
Teleposition: Randomly swaps nearby blocks of a similar material.
RF Inducing: Induces an RF charge in blocks placed next to their housing. The amount of RF produced is based on the bee’s Speed rating.
There are some bees that are hard to visualize:
Retraining: Restores the effect chromosomes of any purebred career bee if it has lost them. Place the bee you wish to retrain on a nearby Flower Pedestal.
PHD Bees - “Not that kind of Doctor.”
Retraining: (see Graduate Bees).
Jazz: Plays the best jazz that random number generators can generate. Gather a large band for best effect.
Yente will make matches for your bees. Sneak-right-click a Yente Princess onto an apiary and it's breeding will be automated. Yente will always choose the Drone that she judges to have the best traits for the Princess.
Yoink!: Steals items from nearby players. These items are deposited into the Apiary/Alveary.
Curative: Cures any negative potion effects on entities within its territory, and provides slight healing.
Assassin: Instantly kills active queens in nearby hives. Place in a bee gun for full regicide experience. Kind of works like oblivion frames. It’s good if you’re breeding bees the old fashioned way.
Explosion "Prevention": The only thing that can stop a bad creeper about to explode is a good creeper about to explode!
Accelerate: Increases the flow of time within their territory.
There are also some bees that do not have any special effects.
Fundraising: Does nothing for you.
These bees have a very fast speed, which might be beneficial to breed into other bees.
